Private San Blas Catamaran Charter
We operate our own catamarans in the San Blas archipelago (Guna Yala), so when you charter with us you talk to the people who run the boats, not to a booking agent. Two catamarans carry most of our guests: the Sunreef 62 luxury catamaran for up to 8 guests in 4 cabins, and the Leopard 42, a fast, easy-going cruising catamaran that families keep coming back to. Both come crewed with a captain and a cook, full board, snorkelling gear, paddleboards and the dinghy runs to shore.
A catamaran is the right hull for San Blas. Two hulls mean shallow draft, so we can anchor closer to the reefs and the sand cays than a monohull can, and the wide deck gives everyone a place to sit in the shade. There is no roll at anchor, which matters when you sleep six nights in a row in the islands. Cabins are separated between the hulls, so couples travelling together still get privacy.
Typical charters run 3 to 7 nights and start in Panama City or Carti after a private flight or a 4x4 transfer. From there the route depends on wind and swell: Cayos Holandeses for the reef and the swimming pool anchorage, Chichime for the classic two-palm sandbank, Coco Bandero for quiet nights, Isla Pinos if you want to see a Guna village that tourism has barely touched. Nothing is fixed. The captain reads the forecast each morning and moves the boat where the conditions are best.
Catamaran charter rates start at $1,200 per night for the Leopard 42 including crew, meals, fuel for normal cruising and water toys. The Sunreef 62 sits higher because of the space, the tenders and the cabin standard. Guna Yala community and island fees, drinks beyond water, coffee and tea, and transport to the boat are quoted separately so you always see what you are paying for. Every price we publish is in USD.
What people notice most is the absence of a schedule. No resort buffet, no tour group, no dive boat traffic. You wake up where the crew anchored, swim before breakfast, and decide over coffee whether to move on or stay another day.
